Mercian Films Ltd (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. We will never sell your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Mercian Films Ltd is the data controller. Contact: info@mercianfilms.com.

Information we collect

Mailing list

If you join our mailing list we collect your name and email address so we can send updates about our films, including Dynamite. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by emailing us. The list is stored in a private Google Sheet in our Mercian Films Google account (Google acts as our processor). If we later use an email service to send updates, it will process the data only on our instructions.

INSide feature sign-ups

If you register interest in the INSide feature on our INSide page, we collect your first name (optional), email address, how far you watched the short, which link or advert brought you to the page, and whether you'd also like news about other Mercian Films projects. We use this to email you about the film and to show audience demand. Our lawful basis is your consent, given when you press the sign-up button. Sign-ups are stored in a private Google Sheet in our Mercian Films Google account (Google acts as our processor).

Emails you send us

If you email us, we keep your message and contact details for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to you.

Website data

Our site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver and protect the site. We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.

Cookies

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode. On most pages they only load when you press play; on our INSide page the film player loads with the page. Once you play a video, YouTube may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy.

Sharing your data

We do not pass your data to third parties except the service providers described above, or where required by law.

Keeping your data secure

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your personal data. No method of online transmission is completely secure, but we will act promptly if a problem arises.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to or restrict how we use it, or withdraw consent at any time, by emailing info@mercianfilms.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
